Take your marks, the mad rush for tickets to next year’s WWE Elimination Chamber: Perth is about to begin, with the date they will go on sale announced.
WWE will make its return to Australia for the first time in six years on Saturday, February 24 and thousands of people are expected to flock to WA for the event.
Eager fans from across the globe can join an early WWE pre-sale from 10am on Wednesday, November 8., while general sales for the Optus stadium bonanza start from 10am on Friday, November 10.
The wrestling spectacle is coming to Perth after the Cook government scored an exclusive for Perth to be the only Australian city to host the WWE stadium show.
The deal ends a lengthy drought for Australian fans as the wrestlers were last in Australia when they battled it out in front of 70,000 at Melbourne’s 2018 Super ShowDown event at the MCG.
The major deal is expected to inject millions into our city and put Optus on the map as WWE is broadcast to over 180 countries and has 35 billion YouTube streams.
Stars expected to take part at the event include World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Famer and four-time champion Mark Calaway, known to fans as The Undertaker.
Other big names include wrestling pros Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, who are members of tag team group, The New Day.
“This (Elimination Chamber) will be really exciting because of the element of surprise,” Kingston said.
He said fans will be able to get up close and personal with their favourite fighters as they take over the city in the lead-up.
“We have hospital visits, we go to different schools. We talk about our Be A Star (anti-bullying) campaign,” Kingston said.
“We have signings, where different WWE superstars come and get to meet the people. It’s probably the best part, because we get to see the people that make us tick.”
