Smart watches and fitness apps have inadvertently exposed illicit affairs, but your iPhone could also easily out you as a cheater, too.
While you may go to great lengths to cover up infidelity, using a separate credit card and arranging meet-ups at secret locations, even the most tech-savvy love rat can be busted by incriminating information on an Apple device.
Below are the seven ways your suspicious significant other can use your iPhone to find out whether you’re unfaithful.
Retrieval of deleted texts
If you think you’re in the clear after deleting dirty messages with your side squeeze, think again.
Texts can be retrieved for 40 days after they’re “deleted,” per the Daily Mail.
Once your partner gains access to your iPhone, they can go into the Messages app and tap “Edit” in the top left corner.
That brings up an option to “Show Recently Deleted” and a prompt to recover anything that’s been disposed of in the past 40 days.
Autofill
Like the deletion of text messages, it’s simply not enough to erase the Safari search history on your iPhone.
OId searches are often exposed with the Autofill feature.
To avoid getting busted by the feature, one would have to clear the cache in the iPhone settings app, in addition to deleting the browser history.
Secret apps
You might believe you’re being savvy by putting dating, sex or secret message apps in an unmarked or dubiously named folder, but your prying partner is sure to find it.
Interestingly, the upcoming iOS 18 update is set to include a function allowing users to hide apps that can only be accessed with Face ID.
However, the apps are reportedly set to be stored in a folder labeled “Hidden” — meaning you’ll quickly be caught once your loved one gets into your phone.
Meanwhile, iCloud also keeps a record of all apps that have been downloaded and deleted using your Apple ID.
Your partner can simply go to the App Store on your iPhone, click on the Account page and select “Apps” to see all the previous downloads you’ve made.
iCloud syncing
Similarly, iCloud backs up all kinds of other information, including photos and messages you may have thought you’d deleted.
All your significant other must do is get your Apple ID e-mail and password and log on to iCloud on any desktop to filter through all the incriminating info.
Additionally, your iCloud could be synched with other devices that others already have easy access to.
One cheating husband was recently busted when his wife discovered that his messages to prostitutes had been backed up to the family computer, according to the Daily Mail.
The husband is now suing Apple for $6.3 million, claiming that a lack of clarity surrounding iCloud and deleted messages led to his divorce.
Location services
The “Find Devices” lets anyone logged into an iCloud account see the location of their iPhone.
This means that if your partner has your Apple ID and password, they’ll be able to check your location in real time, in addition to poring through all the other information backed up to your account.
Screen time
If you’re spending ample amounts of time on your device sexting a side squeeze or perusing apps for extramarital sex, you can be busted by Apple sharing a weekly screen time report.
The amount of time you spend on your iPhone can also be easily found by opening settings and selecting “Screen Time.”

Emojis
If you’re sexting with someone who’s not your partner, any erotic emojis you use will still populate in the “Frequently Used” folder on your keyboard, even if you’ve deleted the messages.
