700 HP Chevy Silverado Fox Factory Wants TO Blow Away The F-150 Raptor R

  • Fox Factory has created a high-performance version of the Chevrolet Silverado with a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine producing 700 HP.
  • The pickup truck’s suspension has been thoroughly upgraded, giving it 14.5 inches of front travel and 15.5 inches of rear travel.
  • Just 500 examples will be built, each starting at $209,999 or double the price of a Ram 1500 TRX.

The Ford F-150 Raptor R and Ram 1500 TRX have a new rival in the form of a special 2024 Chevrolet Silverado. Or sort of, as this is not an official project from Chevrolet. Instead it has been brought to life by Fox Factory. The company describes this as a “new era of super truck.” So, what makes this Silverado special?

Much like the F-150 Raptor R and 1500 TRX, the Silverado Fox Factory Edition benefits from an overhauled suspension setup. It has been fitted with new long-travel front suspension with Fox 3.2 Factory Race Series Live Valve shocks and bump stops.

The rear leaf springs have also been removed and replaced by long-travel multilink suspension with new coilovers, bump stops, and billet-aluminum trailing arms. The pickup now offers 14.5 inches of front travel and 15.5 inches of rear travel.

Plenty is going on under the hood, too. GM’s 6.2-liter V8 has been upgraded with a Whipple Gen V supercharger, allowing the truck to deliver 700 hp and 640 lb-ft (868 Nm) of torque. There is also a Borla exhaust. The original 10-speed automatic transmission has been retained and is now joined by an Autotrac 2-speed transfer case with 2WD, 4HI, and 4LO settings. Dana 60 axles have also been added front and rear.

Various other upgrades have been made. These include 17×8.5-inch Method wheels with 37-inch BFGoodrich A/T KO2 tires. Fox Factory has also installed powerful new LEDs across the front, flared fenders, a carbon fiber hood, high-clearance front and rear bumpers, and can fit one or two spare wheel carriers into the bed.

Fox Factory has also worked on the truck’s interior, adding quick-access buttons for the pre-set terrain modes, auxiliary buttons for the lights, some additional Alcantara components, and various carbon fiber parts.

While this Silverado, of which just 500 units will be built, has been positioned as an answer to the Ford F-150 Raptor R and Ram 1500 TRX, it costs twice as either one starting at $209,999. That makes it approximately $102,000 more than the Ford and more than $110,000 pricier than the Ram. Sure, it’s been seriously upgraded compared to the stock version and, on paper at least, has what it takes to compete with the Ford and the Ram, but at nearly double the price, it might prove to be a hard sell.

In theory, it’s positioned as a competitor to the Ford F-150 Raptor R and Ram 1500 TRX. However, this limited-edition Silverado of which only 500 units are slated for production, comes with a hefty price tag starting at $209,999. This makes it about twice as expensive as either competitor, costing approximately $102,000 more than the Ford and over $110,000 more than the Ram.

While it boasts significant upgrades compared to the stock version and appears competitive on paper, its nearly doubled price may present challenges in the market.
