Aaron Rodgers hikes with RFK Jr. as Achilles recovery continues

Aaron Rodgers’ recovery from a torn left Achilles appeared to include a workout with his pal, 2024 presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The New York Jets quarterback and politician, who is running as an independent, enjoyed a hike at an undisclosed location on Tuesday, according to a photo RFK Jr. posted on X.

“Hiking with @AaronRodgers12 and his amazing Achilles,” Kennedy Jr. wrote, adding a mountain emoji.

Kennedy Jr. was pictured with his arm around Rodgers while three dogs sat nearby during the outdoor excursions.

Rodgers, who sported Adidas sneakers during the hike, is rehabbing a ruptured left Achilles tendon, for which he underwent surgery after sustaining the injury just four snaps into the Jets’ season-opening overtime win over the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 11.

The next month, Rodgers declared his support for Kennedy Jr. in the presidential race.

“I believe in medical freedom and informed consent, and I’m voting for Robert Kennedy Jr.,” the four-time league MVP said during his regular Tuesday appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

It was the same month Rodgers called Travis Kelce “Mr. Pfizer” after the Chiefs tight end (and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend) starred in a commercial about getting vaccinated.

Rodgers, 40, has been open about his stance on vaccinations and faced criticism over his past comments about COVID-19 in 2021, when he told the public he was “immunized” against coronavirus — which many believed meant he was vaccinated against the virus.

It was later revealed that he did not receive a vaccine when he tested positive for COVID-19 in November 2021.

Rodgers is expected to be back on the field at the start of the 2024 season.

Earlier this month, Rodgers played in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament in Pebble Beach, Calif., where he was seen walking the course very well just five months removed from an Achilles surgery.

The former MVP had a “speed bridge” surgery done, which is a procedure designed to accelerate the normal rehabilitation process from the injury, according to NFL Network.

The Jets activated Rodgers to the 53-man roster three weeks after opening his 21-day practice window on Nov. 29.

However, the veteran quarterback did not play again in the 2023 season, during which the Jets missed the playoffs after finishing with a 7-10 record.

Rodgers discussed his future with the Jets during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” at the end of December.

“I don’t think next year will be my last year,” he said. “With some of the things that I’ve learned over the last year, taking care of my body and surrounding myself with some great people who have been helping me with my nutrition and functional training at a more acute level, I feel like I can play more years and I can be effective into my 40s.”
