Abbie Chatfield’s It’s A Lot podcast’s Nightmare Fuel section uncovered a pubic hair collection situation

We know the rental crisis is bad, but is it bad enough to sleep on a bed of pubes?

Abbie Chatfield’s podcast It’s a Lot has a section called Nightmare Fuel, dedicated to listeners’ gross, disgusting and feral stories.

Friday’s guest storyteller was an 18-year-old who recently decided to move out of home to be closer to uni.

She found a studio for lease transfer in Melbourne, all was going well.

She described a tiring trip into Melbourne and the studio she had decided to lease, which had one of those fold-up wall beds, like in a Barbie house.

The tired new tenant decided to lay on the bed and doomscroll on her phone to relax.

She hadn’t made the bed yet, because the mattress looked pretty clean, but at closer inspection, she realised the bed was scattered with pubes.

All colours, all sizes, all lengths. She said she wasn’t too grossed out.

She returned with her mum and a vacuum, and tidied up the bed.

“I’m feeling a lot better in the cleanliness department but I noticed the sticker was upside down… the sewn in label thing was upside down, so someone had obviously flipped it over, so I thought I could do the same,” she said.

“So my mum and I go to flip it over and we find that literally there is a thick blanket of pubes on the underside of the mattress.”

“Sorry, my nipples are rockhard from disgust,” Chatfield interrupted.

“I wonder if they were shaven or tweezed?”

The story continued, with the guest saying she was shocked and disgusted.

“Is this grounds for asking the real estate company for a new one? Is there a biohazard contract?” she said.
