However, the CBA negotiations between the AFLPA and AFL remain ongoing with AFLPA CEO Paul Marsh hinting next year’s season could run for longer.

“The AFLW players are deeply committed to the growth of the AFLW competition as partners in the game,” he said.

“It is with this objective at the forefront that player leaders have signed-off on the AFL’s release of a 10-game home and away fixture for 2023. This agreement has formed part of our CBA negotiations with the AFL and comes with a commitment from the AFL for growth in AFLW games from 2024 and beyond.

“Players believe the release of the fixture will provide fans and clubs with the certainty needed to deliver a successful and exciting 2023 season of AFLW.

“The CBA negotiations between the AFLPA and AFL remain ongoing. Progress has been made in recent weeks, however there is still much work to be done before a proposed deal can be considered by players.”

Addressing the 2023 NAB AFLW Fixture, AFL executive general manager clubs and broadcast Travis Auld said: “We are delighted to present a fixture that strikes a balance between excellent broadcast slots and optimal access for fans.”

“Access and affordability continues to be at the heart of our decision-making, ensuring match-ups are spread, teams get standalone prime slots where applicable and games continue to be played at heartland venues within their respective communities.

“We are thrilled about the upcoming season, which starts with a weekend of clean air amongst the biggest footy month of the year and boasts a robust fixture of Saturday night blockbusters throughout.”

The fixture includes a ‘festival of footy’ in Round 5 during the AFL grand final week, Indigenous Round in Rounds 7 and 8 , and Pride Round celebrating diversity and inclusion in Round 10.

AFLW will reach diverse corners of the country, with games held in a number of new locations nationwide.

The list of potential grand final host venues is as follows: Alberton Oval for Port Adelaide, Brighton Homes Arena for Brisbane and Gold Coast Suns, Fremantle Oval for Fremantle, Henson Park for the Sydney Swans and GWS Giants, IKON Park for Melbourne, Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon, Hawthorn, North Melbourne, St Kilda, Western Bulldogs, and Richmond, GMHBA Stadium for Geelong Cats, Leederville Oval for West Coast Eagles, and Norwood Oval for the Adelaide Crows.
