Some lucky people will have the rare opportunity to stay inside the famous floating Up house, wake up in Prince’s Purple Rain House or slumber next to a Ferrari in The Ferrari Museum.
Airbnb have brought us special accommodation listings in the past and they’ve done it again, this time with a new category of extraordinary experiences called Icons.
Hosted by some of the greatest names in music, film, TV, art, sports and more, Icons is set to take worlds we’ve only ever dreamed of and turn them into reality.
On Thursday, Airbnb revealed 11 of the listings — with most reservations free — which include The X-Men Mansion and Inside Out 2 headquarters.
Drift off in the Up House, one of Disney and Pixar’s most iconic homes — and yes, it floats.
Located in Abiquiu, New Mexico, guests will feel like they have stepped into the set of an animated film.
The house — complete with balloons — is taking bookings until May 14.
Still on Pixar, fans can get excited about the chance to sleep in the emotion headquarters seen in Inside Out and try to keep lead character Riley’s mood under control.
It will be taking bookings in June when the second instalment is out in cinemas.
Another opportunity for movie buffs is Prince’s Purple Rain mansion which is the actual house from the inimitable film.
Hitting Airbnb in August and decked out in purple, guests can sleep in The Kid’s bedroom, hear rare Prince songs and learn about the late artist.
A stay at X-Men ‘97 is also on offer, with the X-Mansion in Westchester, New York open for reservations until May 15.
Guests will undertake student orientation, give Cerebro a whirl, get a superpower and stay in Wolverine’s room.
This getaway costs AU$149.51 per guest and can welcome eight aspiring superheroes.
If fast cars are more your thing, don’t fret as you can spend the night in the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, Italy.
Open for bookings from May 6, the bed is made with the same leather as Ferrari car seats and guests can indulge in a hot lap and eat at Cavallino, Enzo Ferrari’s favourite restaurant.
Rapper Doja Cat, Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor and actor Kevin Hart are all also on the Airbnb Icons list, each hosting stays.
Available to book from October, Doja’s listing includes a living-room show.
From May 12, Kapoor will see you spend time in India at her never-before-seen Chennai holiday home. And as for Hart, you can watch his comedy as a VIP at his Coramino Live Lounge from August.
Other experiences include:
- Wake up in the Musée d’Orsay and witness the historic Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games along the River Seine.
- Face off with TikTok sensation Khaby Lame in a Fortnite Battle Royale.
- Join Feid on his FERXXOCALIPSIS World Tour for an entire week.
Over the past five years, Airbnb has launched more than 90 one-of-a-kind stays and experiences inspired by some of the most beloved people and places in the world.
These have included Barbie’s Malibu DreamHouse, the Home Alone house and Shrek’s Swamp.
