KUWAIT CITY, May 8: Tonight marks the conclusion of the First Division League with two pivotal matches in the twentieth round. Yarmouk will clash with Al-Tadamon at Abdullah Al-Khalifa Stadium, while Sulaibikhat will take on Al-Sahel at Al-Tadamon Stadium. Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 7:05 pm.
The first showdown holds significant stakes for Yarmouk as they stand on the verge of clinching the First Division title and securing a coveted spot in the Zain Premier League. Having already sealed the top spot in the standings two rounds ago with 30 points, Yarmouk confidently enters the match. Meanwhile, the battle for qualification between Al-Tadamon (26 points) and Al-Sahel (24 points) intensifies, with Burgan (12 points) and Sulaibikhat (7 points) eliminated from contention.
Al-Tadamon requires just one point to secure its qualification to the Premier League, irrespective of the outcome of the match between Al-Sahel and Sulaibikhat. Its head-to-head record against Al-Sahel favors the “Sons of Farwaniya”, adding to its advantage.
Tonight’s fixture marks the fourth encounter between Yarmouk and Al-Tadamon this season. While two matches ended in a draw with identical 1-1 scores, Yarmouk emerged victorious in the third encounter with a 2-1 win. Al-Tadamon is eager to demonstrate its capabilities as it aims to reclaim its place in the Premier League, while Yarmouk competes without the burden of pressure, having already secured qualification.
In the second match, Al-Sahel enters the fray with one eye on their match and the other on the outcome of the Yarmouk versus Solidarity encounter, hoping for a favorable outcome for Yarmouk.
Al-Sahel’s task appears manageable today, given its superior goal difference compared to their rivals, especially considering its previous victories over Sulaibikhat, with scores of 4-2 and 2-0, albeit with a draw in its last encounter with a scoreline of 1-1.
