Arab Handball Federation opens bidding for the Arab Club Championship

KUWAIT CITY, May 5: The Arab Handball Federation, via its social media platform on “X,” has officially opened applications for hosting the 39th Arab Club Championship, League, and Cup Champions 2024. Scheduled from September 15 to 25, the championship invites interested parties to submit their bids for organization.

The reigning champion, Kuwait Club, claimed victory in the tournament’s previous edition, securing the title in a thrilling final match against Egyptian Zamalek. The historic win, with a score of 31-30, marked Kuwait Club’s first-ever championship title in the Arab region.

In other handball news, Al-Qadisiya clinched a significant victory over Al-Salmiya, solidifying their position and displacing their opponent from the runner-up spot in the General Handball League standings. The intense match, ending 31-28 in favor of Al-Qadisiya, took place at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex, concluding the 12th round of league fixtures. With this win, Al-Qadisiyah ascended to second place with 21 points, while Al-Salmiya dropped to third place with 19 points.

Today’s schedule includes a match between Al-Nasr (11 points) and Al-Arabi (16 points) at five in the evening, also at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex. The forthcoming matches of the 13th and final round of the league’s first phase are set to commence tomorrow, concluding on Thursday.
