Grande, 30, and Gomez, 27, have tried to reconcile despite their distance, with Gomez working in Los Angeles and Grande in the UK to film the upcoming Wicked films.

Grande stars as Glinda opposite Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba in a two-part adaption of the celebrated musical.

Despite the efforts, the relationship is “heading for divorce,” a source told TMZ.

The outlet was told that the relationship was already on the rocks before Grande took on the Wicked project.

“Ariana and Dalton tried to make things work, but ultimately they were just not a good fit. Dalton has been very private and low-key about their relationship with his work colleagues and hasn’t been talking a lot about their split,” another source told Entertainment Tonight.

“Ariana and Dalton’s friends have always been concerned by their whirlwind romance and felt their relationship would ultimately be short-lived.

“Their relationship has been rocky at different points, and they’ve had trouble making time for each other with scheduling issues.”

The two married in an at-home, intimate ceremony in Montecito, California on May 15, 2021, after first being spotted together in early 2020.

According to Vogue, Grande walked down the aisle accompanied by her parents Joan Grande and Ed Butera in her home, decorated with candles and flower petals hanging from the ceiling.

Less than 20 people were in attendance as the private couple said their “I dos”.

At the time, a representative for the star said: “They got married. It was tiny and intimate — less than 20 people.”

“The room was so happy and full of love.

“The couple and both families couldn’t be happier.”

Grande was previously engaged to Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson.

On Sunday Grande was spotted at Wimbledon beside Wicked co-star Johnathan Bailey, best known for Bridgerton, and actor Andrew Garfield.

The singer kept a low profile in glasses, a white Wimbledon cap and a grey sweater.

Filming for Wicked in London is currently on pause due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
