An arrest warrant has been issued for a former Australian actor who is on the run after allegedly escaping custody.
Orpheus Pledger was on remand for an alleged assault against a woman last month, and was set to face court on Tuesday but never showed up.

The 30-year-old had been taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital for a court-ordered mental health assessment but is believed to have left overnight.
He was supposed to front the Melbourne Magistrates court via video link from hospital on Tuesday to finalise a bail application but his lawyer said Pledger had escaped.
The magistrate vented his frustrations telling the court: “I’ll never make an order like that again. I bent over backwards to try and offer someone mental health treatment as they required.”
On Wednesday police issued an arrest warrant for the actor who played Mason Morgan on Home and Away from 2016 to 2019.
Police said he is known to frequent Northcote and surrounding areas.
He is described as approximately 170cm tall with brown hair and a tanned complexion.
As well as starring in Home and Away, Pledger also appeared in 26 episodes of Neighbours and was a contestant on SAS Australia in 2022.
