Beggar found with luxury cars and cash in West Bank.

WEST BANK, April 23: Palestinian authorities have made a significant arrest in the town of Bir Zeit, north of Ramallah in the West Bank, where a beggar was apprehended in possession of a 2020 model vehicle and a substantial sum of money amounting to 15,000 shekels (approximately $3,995).

The arrest followed patrols conducted by Palestinian police in Bir Zeit, during which officers grew suspicious of an individual from outside the province sitting in a vehicle under dubious circumstances. Upon further investigation, officers discovered a considerable amount of money in plastic bags beside the driver, prompting the arrest.

According to an official statement released by the Palestinian police, the detained individual is believed to have engaged in begging at intersections and roads, allegedly coordinating a group of individuals to beg in various public places and crossroads across different governorates before returning to Ramallah.

Following the issuance of a search warrant by the Public Prosecution, authorities searched the suspect’s residence, where they uncovered five luxury vehicles purportedly belonging to him and his brother, who was also subsequently apprehended.

In addition to the luxury vehicles, authorities seized a bag containing 8,000 shekels in coins and 22,000 shekels in banknotes, believed to have been collected from the daily begging activities of the suspects.

Photos circulating on social media reveal the findings from the raid, showcasing the cache of luxury cars owned by the beggar and his brother, shedding light on the scale of the operation uncovered by the authorities.

The arrest underscores the efforts of Palestinian law enforcement in combating criminal activities and maintaining law and order in the region. Investigations into the case are ongoing as authorities work to unravel the full extent of the operation and bring those responsible to justice.
