• The M Performance Parts collection includes several carbon fiber accessories and aero add-ons.
  • BMW has also developed new 19-, 20-, and 21-inch wheels for the 5-Series Touring and i5 Touring.
  • Customers can also opt for subtle interior touches like new floor mats and aluminum door sills.

BMW has launched a suite of M Performance Parts for the new 5-Series Touring and i5 Touring, making the luxurious wagons look a little sportier as we eagerly await the arrival of the new M5.

Like most other M Performance Parts, those developed for the 5-Series Touring and i5 Touring are predominantly made from carbon fiber. These include the new three-piece M Performance carbon front splitter that instantly boosts the sporty appeal of the two models without looking like an aftermarket special.

The carbon fiber trimmings continue along the sides with new wing mirror caps and side skirt extensions. Owners can also order Frozen Black accent stripes running along the shoulder line of the car and M Performance decals for the side sills. Perhaps the most striking change is found at the rear with a bold carbon fiber diffuser. While not as over-the-top as the diffuser/exhaust combination available for the M4, it’s still pretty wild.

Four new wheel designs are also offered for the 5-Series Touring and i5 Touring, available in 19-, 20-, and 21-inch sizes. Those seeking the ultimate in summer performance would be wise to opt for the 19-inch M Performance alloy wheels with a Y-Spoke design painted matte black and wrapped in sticky rubber. Hiding behind these new wheels are M Performance 20-inch brakes that include red-painted calipers with six-pistons up front and a single-piston design at the rear.

Various touches have also been made inside. For example, there are M aluminum door sill trims, new door projector slides, M Performance floor mats with contrast stitching and leather-look edging, and stainless steel pedals. Owners can also order a special key case made from Alcantara and leather and a carbon fuel filler cap.

BMW hasn’t provided market-specific pricing for these parts but has confirmed they’ll be available from this month.
