Brisbane property listed for under $200,000

A unique Brisbane home has been listed for sale for under $200,000.

However, the one-bedroom, one-bathroom property isn’t your traditional house.

Nestled on Russell Island, southeast of the Queensland capital, the incomplete shipping container house is covered almost completely in solar panels.

It’s understood the property’s owner began a project at the home that was not completed.

Images of the unusual home reveal a rectangle-shaped structure with solar panels covering almost every inch.

At the back of the property, images show what appears to be two large containers with wood panels stacked between them.

The bizarre home, which has hit the market for $199,950, is fully fenced and has a separate unidentifiable structure, which is also covered in solar panels.

The listing by Bay Island’s Property is advertised as a “container home in progress”.

“Here is an opportunity to finish a project, an approved Container Home project which needs to be completed,” it reads.

The median price of a two-bedroom house in Russel Island currently sits at $336,000.
