Carlos Rodon’s wife has message for ‘pissed’ Yankees fans

Carlos Rodon’s wife understands the backlash.

Ashley Rodon, who married the Yankees pitcher in 2018, chimed in on the kiss-blowing incident, which unfolded during Wednesday’s 7-3 loss to the Angels.

“The days he’s ass he’ll own it and get ready for the next one,” Ashley wrote on Twitter the day after Rodon blew a sarcastic smooch toward frustrated fans.

“Always has. It’s struggle bus right now for fans. I know it’s not personal, fans love the team. I can ride with that. Even if they are being a–holes when they’re pissed off about the results. I get it.”

Ashley was responding to a fan who suggested she would either delete her Twitter account or make it private.

Rodon’s viral kiss came in a game where he allowed six earned runs on four hits, five walks and two home runs through 4 ⅓ innings.

The Yankees were down 4-0 when Rodon blew the kiss coming off the mound after the second inning.

The lefty trailed 6-0 by the time he was pulled.

“I guess it was the best reaction I could give, but better not to give a reaction I guess,” Rodon said to reporters postgame.

“Just one of those things I was frustrated and better to blow a kiss or not do anything at all. It was just a frustrating outing, that’s for sure. And I showed it there in the second early.”

Manager Aaron Boone was not a fan of the kiss as his slumping team tries to manage the emotions that come with losing nine of its last 11 games.

“I would like him not to do that,” Boone said. “It’s not the reaction you want and we’ve talked about it. When you’re in the arena and you’re going through it, sometimes you do things you don’t necessarily want to engage in.”

Rodon has gone 0-3 with a 7.36 ERA in his first three Yankees starts after beginning the season on the IL.

The left-hander, who signed a six-year, $162 million contract this offseason, was on the IL for the first half of the year due to a forearm strain and back tightness.

Swept by the Angels in the three-game series, the Yankees have sunk deeper into last place in the AL East with a 50-47 record.
