Echevarria has been in his role at Ecoalf since April, while Javier Goyeneche, the brand’s founder, will stay on as its president, as confirmed by sources at the company to FashionNetwork.com.

Prior to joining the Spanish company known for its commitment to sustainability, Echevarria was the CEO of Ananas Anam since September 2023. After just over six months in the role, he has been succeeded by Silvia Bernardini, formerly of Swarovski, as the new CEO of the company specializing in textile solutions made from pineapple.

Echevarria brings extensive experience in the fashion and luxury industry, having served as CEO of Lacoste Iberia from 2018 to 2020, and then as the chief executive of Excens Sports, a group specializing in the sale and distribution of sports goods. Before that, he was part of the executive teams at industry giants such as Swarovski and Montblanc.

With this appointment, Ecoalf has filled the position of CEO, which has been vacant since mid-2023 following the departure of Andrés López, who led the company for two years. Previously, the sustainable fashion brand was led by Marisa Selfa, who has experience with companies like Tendam, Timberland, and Adidas, and who joined North Sails in 2020. At the beginning of this year, Selfa took on the role of CEO of the textile division at the Ocean Born Foundation.

Founded in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, Ecoalf is grounded in sustainability and innovation. Having posted revenues of 60 million euros last year, the company anticipates a 25% increase in its turnover this year, aiming to reach 150 million euros by 2027, with a strategic focus on markets including the United States.
