CHICAGO, 19th July, 2023 (WAM) — An Emirati food scientist Dr. Yousef Saeed Al Saadi was honoured by the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), a nonprofit scientific organisation committed to advancing the science of food and its application across the global food system, as Ambassador of Food Scientists.
As part of the celebration of the ten years of excellence as a certified food scientist professional programme for ten years.
At the annual international conference of the association in Chicago from 16th-19th July, the association recognised his scientific efforts and excellence among 201 accredited food scientists worldwide on their tenth anniversary of obtaining the certificate and international title.
According to Al-Saadi, international accreditations in food serve as a national reference for the UAE federal level of food and beverage manufacturing. As a result, supply chains and food security are strengthened, quality standards are controlled, and food production is monitored to ensure that the quality standards for processed foods are met.
The goal of Dr. Youssef Al-Saadi’s Emirati project is to transfer knowledge to experts in the field of food in the nation by adopting Emirati talents who specialise in the field.
He also organises specialised and knowledge-based workshops for them as a prelude to international tests to help them achieve professional excellence and the title of an internationally accredited food scientist.
Dr. Youssef Al-Saadi earned his Ph.D. in food sciences from Kansas State University in the United States, where he specialised for four years in developing quick and sophisticated techniques for finding bacteria in food.
He has already been successful in creating a technique for finding bacteria in less than six hours.
