Fair Harbor marks 10th Year Anniversary with limited-edition capsule collection

Certified B Corp apparel brand Fair Harbor is set to launch a special, limited edition capsule collection in honor of its tenth anniversary. Celebrating the milestone this month, the exclusive 10th Anniversary Collection will launch online on May 16 and features many of the brand’s core values.

Since its inception in 2014, the sustainable beachwear brand established by siblings Caroline and Jake Danehy has converted over 35 million plastic bottles into fabric for its collections. Each piece of apparel is made with at least 87 percent sustainable materials. The new limited-edition anniversary collection was designed to further enhance the brand’s environmental contributions.

“Improving the environment has always been a priority for me,” said co-founder and chief brand officer Caroline Danehy in a statement. “Looking back, it’s been an incredible journey that started in our parent’s garage a decade ago and evolved into a thriving, sustainable business that has made significant steps in protecting the planet. And we feel like this is just the beginning of what we can accomplish.”

The new limited-edition anniversary capsule draws inspiration from the early days of the siblings spent on Fire Island with their family. The 27-piece collection includes swimwear, shorts, tees, and hoodies, featuring eight new sustainable designs. Additionally, the collection launch sees Fair Harbor introducing its first women’s swim range, made from recycled nylon.

“Each new season explores reinterpretations of classic silhouettes in innovative, low-impact materials,” said Jake Danehy, co-founder and CEO of Fair Harbor, in a statement. “We’re always looking for the most responsible production partners and the most creative sustainable solutions. Our 10th Anniversary Collection continues to push this mission forward.” The brand developed the capsule items using eco-friendly materials, including organic cotton, seawool from oyster shells, Tencel, organic linen, recycled nylon, and its signature recycled polyester.

“So far, Fair Harbor has repurposed more than 35 million plastic bottles into our ultra-comfortable lifestyle apparel, but our goal is to double that number in the next three years,” added Jake.“We’re proud to celebrate a decade of protecting the places we love from plastic pollution, and can’t wait to make an even greater impact.”

In recognition of partnerships the brand has forged with retailers over the past decade, the co-founders will revisit their beginnings with a “10 Years, 10 Cities” tour along the East Coast starting this June. They will host trunk shows at key locations, including Nantucket Surf Club in Nantucket; Corliss and Flair House on Fire Island; Rothmans in Scarsdale, NY; Flying Point in Southampton, NY; Nordstrom in New York, NY; Crafted New England in Exeter, NH; Puritan Cape Cod in Chatham, MA; and Seaside in Seaside, FL.

Ten percent of sales will be donated to local charities selected by the retail partners and Fair Harbor at each event. The tour will run from June 13 to August 17, 2024.
