Father daughter duo launch new plastic-free and reef-safe SPF brand that shoppers love

The father and daughter duo behind a new plastic-free and reef-safe SPF brand are making waves with their SPF products designed to protect your skin from the sun and look after our oceans.

Found My Skin was launched by West Australian woman Amy Found and her chemist father, John Found, with the aim of making plastic-free, reef-safe SPF available to the masses.

The brand’s most popular product is the new Face and Body Tinted Mineral SPF 50+ with Kakadu Plum ($49).

The mineral sunscreen has been infused with iron oxide to tint it, as well as Kakadu plum — which Found My Skin claims is the “world’s richest source of vitamin C” and which helps to boost radiance and luminosity in the skin.

The SPF 50+ is also paraben, plastic and cruelty-free and Australian made.

The sunscreen is suitable for everyday use, but Found My Skin reminds users you should apply it evenly to exposed skin 20 minutes before sun exposure.

You need to re-apply it every couple of hours and every time you get into the water to ensure adequate protection.

According to the Cancer Council, when applying sunscreen, you need at least one teaspoon per limb, one for the front of the body, one for the back and one for the head.

A full body application for an adult should be at least 35mL or seven teaspoons.

Although the sunscreen is new to the Aussie market, those who have tried it are already raving about it.

“This is a total pleasure to use,” writes one woman.

“The scent, the properties on the skin with the Kakadu plum, and the consistency are all pleasing to the touch and the nose.

“The tube key is a clever concept brought to execution. This kind of innovation is excellent to see and can be used for other tubes too. I appreciate that.”

Another adds: “Three big standouts for me. 1) This sunscreen is packaged in 100 per cent aluminium which can be repeatedly recycled. 2) The lid doesn’t leak, making this sunscreen mess-free. 3) No ghosting thanks to the perfect shade of tint.

It’s also super moisturising with excellent sunscreen protection at SPF50.”
