RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, May 6: Siamese twins Akhizah and Ayeesha Yosoph, along with their parents, touched down in Riyadh on Sunday as part of a specially coordinated evacuation plan orchestrated by the Saudi Health Ministry.
The arrival of the twins, facilitated by the Saudi Health Ministry, marked a significant step in their journey towards potential separation surgery. Upon landing at King Khalid International Airport, they were swiftly transferred to the King Abdullah Specialized Children’s Hospital (KASCH) under the careful watch of the National Guard, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
At KASCH, a dedicated medical team is now diligently assessing the twins’ condition to determine the feasibility of separation surgery. This critical evaluation comes under the directives of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, whose unwavering support has propelled this humanitarian initiative forward.
Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, the lead overseeing the twins’ case, expressed profound gratitude for the royal support extended towards the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program and broader humanitarian endeavors.
