Gwyneth Paltrow ski trial musical sets snowy US premiere

The musical comedy inspired by Gwyneth Paltrow’s infamous 2023 ski trial is coming to America.

“Gwyneth Goes Skiing” creators Linus Karp and Joseph Martin will reprise their roles as the Goop founder and retired optometrist Terry Sanderson at Utah’s Egyptian Theatre in Park City, Awkward Productions announced Monday.

The Park City dates kick off on May 16 until the 26th. The musical is for audiences 16 and older as the show contains strong language, adult humor and “exploding vagina candles.”

“Getting to perform it where this incredible piece of pop culture history happened is a very exciting opportunity — we can’t wait,” Martin told The Post on Monday.

“We haven’t heard from Gwyneth, but we have heard she has a great sense of humored,” he added when asked if the “Iron Man” star has been in contact about the production. “The show is full of love and celebration for her, and we’re big Gwyneth fans. We’d be gagged and gooped to welcome her along.”

Deer Valley ski slope in Utah is where the alleged ski collision between Paltrow, 51, and Sanderson, 76, took place in 2016. He sued the actress, claiming she skied into him, while she counter-sued for $1 plus legal fees, claiming he actually had skied into her.

“Glee” star Darren Criss and “What We Do in the Shadows” comedian Cat Cohen will lend their vocals to the stateside adaptation’s soundtrack.

Paltrow made cameos on “Glee” as substitute teacher Holly Holliday in 2010 and 2014.

Drag queen Trixie Mattel will also join the interactive show digitally as Paltrow’s mother, Blythe Danner.

Pop songwriter Leland (“RuPaul’s Drag Race”) penned songs for the upcoming musical, including “See You in Court” and “I Wish You Well.” The latter song title refers to the infamous one-liner Paltrow whispered to Sanderson before she left the courtroom when a jury deemed her victorious in the trial.

“Gwyneth Goes Skiing” first had a limited run in London at the UK’s Pleasance Theatre.

The show’s description reads: “She’s the Goop-founding, Door-Sliding, Shakespeare-In-Loving, consciously-uncoupling Hollywood superstar. He’s a retired optometrist from Utah. In 2016, they went skiing. On the slopes of Deer Valley, their worlds collided, and so did they — literally. Ouch. Seven years later in 2023, they went to court. Double ouch.

“This is their story. Kind of. Not really,” the description continues. “A story of love, betrayal, skiing and (somehow) Christmas — where you are the jury!”

The Post has contacted reps for Paltrow for comment.

While Paltrow never addressed the musical, she did speak about the trial in a September 2023 interview with the New York Times.

“That whole thing was pretty weird,” she claimed. “I don’t know that I’ve even processed it.”

“It was something I felt like I survived,” she added. “Sometimes in my life, it takes me a long time to look back and process something and understand something.”
