Retired sports radio personality Joe Benigno completely lost it on his podcast when he began experiencing technical difficulties — in a manner that evoked memories of Bill O’Reilly’s infamous “We’ll do it live!” meltdown.
During a recent episode of Oh the Pain, something seemed to go wrong for the former WFAN host — as he claimed a pop-up ruined the recording of the show. Whatever happened, his cat may have had something to do with it as he directed his frustration at the pet.
“Oh, this thing. This fucking thing!” Benigno said. “Of course this would happen now!
“Come on, baby! Come on! Gotta come up! Let’s go! Goddammit… Goddammit! Fucking thing! And it stopped recording!”
Then, Beningo’s wife entered the room to investigate the commotion. The two then went on about pop-ups.
“Why does this thing pop up like that,” Benigno said, “where it covers the whole screen?”
“I don’t know,” she responded. “Sometimes we get these pop-ups.”
“There’s no reason for it,” a dejected Benigno said.
After doing some more groaning, Benigno resumed his show after being told it was back online. He wasted no time getting right back to trashing Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid after his playoff series loss to the New York Knicks.
“Alright, we’re back!” he said. “We had a little glitch here, so we wanna apologize for everybody… So let’s get to where we were. We’re talking about Embiid and how overrated he is.”
