NEW DELHI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the examination dates for the CA Foundation and Intermediate exams scheduled for September 2024 today, May 18. The registration for the CA Foundation exams closed on May 1, 2024.
The ICAI CA exams are set to be conducted from September 12 to September 23, 2024. According to an official notification from ICAI, the examination schedule will remain unchanged even if any of the exam dates are declared a public holiday by the central government, state governments, or local authorities.
ICAI CA Foundation Exam September 2024
The CA Foundation September 2024 exams are scheduled for September 13, 15, 18, and 24.These exams will be conducted based on the syllabus specified in the framework announced by the Council under Regulation 25 F of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.
ICAI CA Intermediate Exam September 2024
The examination dates for the ICAI CA Intermediate 2024 have been scheduled as follows:
Group-I exams will take place on September 12, 14, and 17, 2024, while Group-II exams are set for September 19, 21, and 23, 2024. The exams will be held as per syllabus contained in the scheme notified by the Council under Regulation 28 F of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.
“No examination is scheduled on 16th September 2024 (Monday) on account of Milad – un – Nabi, being a compulsory (gazetted) Central Government holiday as per F. No. 12/2/2023-JCA dated 3.7.2023 issued by Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievance and Pensions, Government of India,” reads the official notification.
The Paper(s) 3 and 4 of CA Foundation Exam 2024 are of 2 hours duration. However, all other examinations are of
3 hours duration, and the examination wise timing(s) are given below:

For Papers 3 and 4 of the Foundation Examination, there will be no advance reading time. However, for all other exams mentioned, a 15-minute advance reading period will be provided from 1:45 PM to 2:00 PM.
Additionally, for composite papers that include both MCQ-based and descriptive questions, the seal of the MCQ-based question paper will be opened at 2:00 PM, meaning there will be no advance reading time for the MCQ sections.
Candidates are advised to prepare accordingly and stay updated with any further notifications from ICAI.
