KUWAIT CITY, May 9: Kuwait Club will square off against Al-Qadisiya at Al-Ittihad Hall at 7:30 pm in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Hall Complex for the opening match of the “Playoff” final round in the Basketball League. Simultaneously, Kazma will take on Al-Arabi at 5:00 pm in the third deciding match to determine third and fourth places. The final round will follow a “play-off” system consisting of five matches, with the champion being crowned after winning three.

Defending champion Kuwait Club aims to secure victory in today’s match to continue its quest for a sixth consecutive title. The team draws confidence from its recent victory in the West Asian Championship title for the Gulf region, boosting the morale of players and staff.

Meanwhile, Al-Qadisiya, making a return to the final after an absence since 2018, seeks to surprise its opponent with a potential upset victory.

Throughout the season, the two teams have clashed five times, with Kuwait Club emerging victorious in all encounters. However, Al-Qadisiya has displayed commendable performance levels in these matchups, providing a tougher challenge for Kuwait Club compared to previous years.

Kuwait Club’s German coach, Peter Schumer, places trust in the skills of professional players such as Haitian Cadillalan and Americans Anthony Marcus and Mitchell Young, alongside standout performers including the Hamad brothers, Muhammad Adnan, Imran Jawaher, Turki Hammoud, and Alexander Al-Ghais.

On the opposing side, Al-Qadisiya’s American coach relies on the talents of players such as Muhammad Ashkanani, Muhammad Al-Dakhil, Abdul-Mohsen Mortada, and Saleh Al-Yousef, supported by American professionals Lowry, Tilmon, and March.
