An LSU baseball got hit in the head by a home run ball traveling 109 miles per hour and somehow managed to give an interview right after.
In the bottom of the eighth inning of Tuesday’s game against Nicholls, LSU third baseman Tommy White hit a three-run homer to left field. On the broadcast, a man could be seen trying to catch the home run ball with a glove.
Unfortunately for him, the ball hit him square on the forehead. He didn’t go down, but he did hold his head in pain.
Shortly after, BRProud reporter Pat Timlin entered the stands to hear from the man himself.
“I mean, it was on a rope!” said the man who identified himself as Cory. “You know, I’ve been carrying this glove with me for years and I was like, ‘OK, now’s my time. I got one coming,’ and hole in the glove, man. What can I say? Beaned off my dome and here we are. I’ve got a nice little goose egg.”
Meet Cory, the LSU Baseball fan who took a Tommy White home run straight to the dome. He’s in great spirits despite the 109 MPH EV missile that hit him.

Cory took off his cap and showed the small patch of blood where the ball hit his forehead. He was then asked if it hurt.
“It don’t feel good,” he said. “It felt like every bit of a 109 mile-an-hour home run ball.”
While Cory didn’t get the ball — it bounced off his head and over the fence — he was given another ball from the team. On Friday, he hopes to get White to sign it.
“And maybe kiss my boo-boo,” he added.
