Maharashtra to fill vacant post at state-run central hospital in Ulhasnagar

ULHASNAGAR: The state government has decided to fill the vacant doctors and other staff in the state government-run Central Hospital located at Ulhasnagar in Thane district.
To fill vacant posts the state has started the process. Apart from Ulhasnagar, patients from other small towns like Ambernath, Badlapur and Murbad come for treatment in the Central Hospital.
At Central Hospital the post of 16 doctors is sanctioned, out of which only 6 doctors are currently employed while there is a shortage of more than 120 remaining staff including 48 sisters and 66 class 4 staff.
As per hospital authority daily over 300 patients take treatment at 202 beds-Central hospital.
In the absence of doctors and staff, many times patients’ relatives complained about doctors here shifting patients to other hospitals in Mumbai.
Due to the lack of facilities for the patients, many times many public representatives including local BJP MLA Kumar Ailani in writing had demanded the state government to fill the vacant posts.
Over the same issue, Ailani had again decided to raise the issue in the state assembly that started on Monday. However on Monday, in response to Ailani’s demand, Health Minister Dr Tanaji Sawant in writing assured that the process of recruitment of doctors and other staff has been started by the Ministry of Health and the process of determining the company for the examination of the post is underway.
Therefore, the vacant posts will be filled soon in the next few months.
