KUWAIT CITY, March 28: Maryam Al-Husseini emerged victorious as the champion of the inaugural Ramadan Bowling Tournament for women, organized by the Kuwait Airways Workers Union and its subsidiaries. The event, which concluded yesterday evening at the Kuwaiti Sports Bowling Club in Salmiya, witnessed spirited competition among 20 skilled players.

Securing first place, Maryam Al-Husseini claimed the title, while Munira Al-Houti clinched second place, earning a silver medal, and Latifa Al-Lingawi secured third place, receiving a bronze medal. The top three positions were acknowledged by Dr. Ahmed Falah Al-Mahwaish, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Airways Workers Union and its subsidiaries, along with the union secretary, pilot Abdullah Khaled Ahmed, and Khaled Habib, the representative of the Kuwaiti Bowling Sports Club.

Expressing his satisfaction, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mahawish emphasized the success of the tournament owing to the remarkable turnout and impeccable organization. He remarked, “We are delighted with the outcome, which catalyzes future endeavors in the years to come.” He highlighted the board’s commitment to promoting diversity in sports during the holy month of Ramadan, catering to various interests, ages, and genders. Initiatives included padel, Futsal five-a-side, and culminated in the Ramadan bowling tournament for women, reflecting a diverse range of sporting activities.

Al-Mahawish underscored that the primary objective of hosting these Ramadan sports courses was to invigorate Kuwait’s sports scene and foster the skills and abilities of all participants across the board.
