Morgan State University shooting leaves multiple people shot at Baltimore school

Multiple people were shot at Morgan State University in Baltimore Tuesday night as police warned residents to shelter in place due to an “active shooter situation.”

At least four people were shot on the campus of the Maryland college, Baltimore Police spokesperson Vernon Davis told the Baltimore Banner. The conditions of the victims were not immediately available.

Baltimore Police alerted the public of an active shooter situation in the 1700 block of Argonne Drive, near the campus of the historically black university, just after 10 p.m.

“We’re asking everyone to shelter in place and avoid the area,” the department wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Less than an hour later, the department confirmed that there were “multiple” victims in the shooting — without providing an exact number — and said that residents should continue to shelter in place.

The shooter may have been firing from a dorm room, according to local CBS affiliate WJZ.

An image of a shattered window with a bullet hole posted by a WJZ reporter was confirmed by cops to be the dorm window where the gunman was shooting from.
