Mr Porter goes collab crazy with Tom Ford, Houdini, Diemme and Throwing Fits

YNAP’s luxury menswear site Mr Porter launched an exclusive Tom Ford capsule for the autumn season on Monday with a 43-piece collection of ready-to-wear and accessories. It was the latest in a series of major collabs launched in recent days.

Mr Porter x Tom Ford

Designed with Tom Ford’s “elevated and modern approach to menswear”, the capsule draws inspiration from the mod and punk era in London with a focus on “sharp tailoring and outerwear in a monochromatic colour palette”. It uses traditional English fabrics such as flannel, puppytooth and herringbone.

The offer includes 36 ready-to-wear pieces, three shoes, three ties and one scarf, and “champions iconic Tom Ford styles”.

Key pieces include black leather and shearling peacoats, a shearling collar flight jacket, psychedelic swirl tuxedo jackets, a gingham blazer, black and white micro design suit and mohair silk roll neck knitwear.

It’s the biggest exclusive capsule for Mr Porter to date and links back to the first Tom Ford collection it bought back in 2015, said Buying Director Daniel Todd.

The e-tailer will celebrate the launch with a global campaign across its marketing and editorial channels from 23 October onwards.

Meanwhile, Mr Porter’s own brand, Mr P, has also launched exclusive capsule collections with Swedish outdoor brand Houdini and Italian performance footwear brand Diemme for the e-tailer’s annual Go Out series.

This raises awareness and funds for Mr Porter Health in Mind, supporting men’s mental and physical health initiatives.

The collaborative collections have just launched and “celebrate the great outdoors through championing performance wear”.

Mr P x Houdini

All pieces are available at Mr porter with the Mr P x Houdini items online at Houdini as well.

Net profits of each piece sold during the first two weeks on the two sites will be donated to the Fund.

The Houdini link-up features seven ready-to-wear items available in exclusive colourways. Highlights include a red recycled polyester insulation jacket, a sea-blue shell anorak and a pair of grey softshell trousers alongside four merino wool pieces that are ideal for layering. Each item features specially designed trims including Mr P x Houdini co-branded zip-pulls, garment patches and labels.

And the Diemme link-up focuses on three hiking boots from the brand, including the Roccia Vet boots in black or bourdeaux, alongside a pair of the Roccia Basso boots in brown.

Each style features the Mr P logo embossed on the boot tongue alongside custom orange internal footbeds, orange midsole stripes and orange laces, designed exclusively with Mr P.

Finally, Mr Porter also last week announced the second edition of its custom-designed collaboration with New York-based podcast Throwing Fits.

Handpicked and co-designed by hosts Lawrence Schlossman and James Harris, it showcases a curated selection of products “from some of the most exciting established and emerging designers in menswear today”.

Mr Porter x Throwing Fits

The collection features 10 brands with more than 100 pieces of ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories from 4SDesigns, Andafterthat, Diemme again, Kaptain Sunshine, Karu Research, Metalwood, NN07, Ostraya, Second/Layer and Small Talk Studio, alongside an edit of exclusive Throwing Fits merchandise.

Each brand has created a unique collection “that communicates its brand story and ethos through the lens of Schlossman and Harris”.

It also comes with an integrated global marketing campaign, including a hero story in The Journal, featuring Schlossman, Harris and their network of friends.
