Nicole Kidman steals the show as the Big Little Lies star takes home the AFI Life Achievement award

Australian superstar Nicole Kidman looked like a goddess dipped in gold during the American Film Institute gala in Los Angeles.

The actress featured a Balenciaga gown fit for a queen as her peers honoured her.

Kidman, 56, was awarded the AFI Life Achievement Award.

She made Australian history by becoming the first Aussie to receive the award, joining previous winners and global legends Meryl Streep, Jane Fonda and George Clooney.

Kidman’s floor-length gown was paired with delicate gold jewellery, a beautiful watch and dainty black pointed stilettos.

“Babygirl — I’m so proud of you, and as much as I could come off sounding like the biased husband, I’ll let the list of previous honorees do all the talking for me. What a list!” he wrote.
