Police are investigating multiple knife incidents on Wednesday, including an attack in the CBD which sent a man in his 20s to hospital.

Officers were at the scene of a serious assault at the intersection of Barrack Street and St Georges Terrace just before 5am on Wednesday.

Police say a man in his 20s was attacked by a group of people. He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with injuries to his back, believed to be consistent with a knife wound.

Police have not laid any charges over the incident as their investigation remains ongoing.
