Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is the first mainline game in the series in over a decade, and it meant a return to the Prince’s 2D platforming roots.
You play as a new character named Sargon, a warrior who must travel the game’s world to rescue a kidnapped prince.
Unlike previous Prince of Persia games, The Lost Crown is firmly in the metroidvania genre.
This means it features a world of interconnected stages with shortcuts and hidden rooms you gradually unlock as you gain new abilities.
Switching up the genre and main character was a gamble that paid off as The Lost Crown was received positively by critics and players alike.
The game’s Nintendo Switch version is rated a respectable 88/100 on review aggregator Metacritic, with a matching user score of 8.6/10.
Right now, you can grab it for £26.99 / $29.99 from the Nintendo Switch eShop or the PlayStation Store.
Usually priced at £44.99 / $49.99, the current deal will save you 40% on both the Standard and Deluxe editions of the game.
The Deluxe Edition will set you back by another £3 / $5, but it comes with a special Immortals outfit for Sargon.
The Prosperity Bird amulet, which helps you find hidden items in-game, is another deluxe perk.
Both Switch and PlayStation owners have until May 5, 2024, to snatch the deal before the game returns to its regular price.
