Owners of new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models can benefit from the monthly payments as long as they choose JLR’s own insurance services

Range Rovers, frequently listed among the UK’s most stolen cars, have seen a staggering 56.4 percent spike in insurance rates within a single year. To combat this trend, JLR is enhancing the luxury SUV’s security, collaborating with local insurers, and offering its own insurance services.
But more importantly, the company has announced a new Insurance Contribution initiative, offering Range Rover owners £150 ($187) per month towards their insurance costs for up to three years.

The insurance contributions are currently limited to Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models registered between May 1 and September 30. The value of the vehicle must not exceed £150,000 ($187,136) which means that the pricier SV models are excluded. The offer is also not applicable to lesser Range Rover models, namely the Evoque and the Velar.
To be eligible, drivers must be aged between 30 and 85 years old, and JLR’s own insurance company must cover the SUVs. The latter was launched in October 2023 for owners of Jaguar, Land Rover, and Range Rover models and currently has an average monthly premium of less than £180 ($225).
JLR is also supporting owners of older Range Rovers by investing £15 million ($18.7 million) to improve the security of older models. A total of 150,000 SUVs registered from 2018 onward have already been upgraded, and an anti-theft software update is currently in development for 2016 and 2017 models.
Finally, the company claims to offer ‘unprecedented levels of real-time data’ to UK insurers. It also hosts regular conferences to demonstrate the efforts being made to make Range Rovers less vulnerable to car thieves.
The latest generation models have proven to be more resilient to thefts. According to UK police data, 0.2 percent of new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models have been stolen, along with 0.3 percent of new Land Rover Defenders.
