In the coming spring, REI will be expanding its footprint to Beavercreek, Ohio, and Beaverton, Oregon. As summer approaches, the co-op is set to open its doors in Glendale, Arizona, Ithaca, New York, and Rancho Mirage, California. Anticipating the fall season, new stores will open their doors in Albany, New York, and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

While details of three additional store openings in 2024 are yet to be revealed, REI has already set its sights on 2025, with Durango, Colorado, slated for a spring opening, and St. George, Utah, earmarked for a fall debut.

Each location is expected to provide an extensive array of apparel, gear, and expertise, covering a spectrum of outdoor activities such as camping, cycling, running, fitness, hiking, climbing, and more.

To cater to cycling enthusiasts, REI is introducing a full-service bike shop at each location, staffed with skilled technicians capable of tuning, repairing, and enhancing the performance of all types of bikes, while the St. George, Utah store will further feature a dedicated ski and snowboard shop.

“Each of these communities has an abundance of easily accessible natural places to play in addition to proximity to iconic national parks where REI currently guides active adventures,” said Mary-Farrell Tarbox, REI vice president of Stores.

“We look forward to serving as a welcoming resource to everyone through our staff’s expertise and broad product assortment. As we do in every community where we have a presence, we will also establish nonprofit partnerships to support their efforts to help get more people outside.”
