In a quest to capitalize on the popularity of SUVs in India, Renault and Nissan will launch four new models, all based on a localized version of the CMF-B architecture. The announcement was accompanied by an official teaser. The five-seater SUVs are expected to debut in late 2025, with their seven-seater siblings following at a later date.

The first teaser shows that the Renault-branded model will be closely related to the third generation of the Dacia Duster that debuted a few months ago. The company has already unveiled a rebadged Renault Duster derivative (below), but the Indian-spec model appears to have slightly different LED graphics on the headlights and a revised aluminum-style skid plate on the front bumper.

On the other hand, the mechanically related Nissan model boasts a fully redesigned face. The full-width LED headlights look similar to those of the Nissan Interstar LCV, while the bumper features aluminum-style inserts around the intakes. The sculpted hood, windshield, roof rails, and front fenders suggest that the Nissan-branded SUV will also share a large portion of its bodywork with the Dacia Duster.

The new Renault and Nissan SUV models are expected to share the same turbocharged gasoline powertrain options. As for the seven-seater SUVs, these could be closely related to the upcoming Dacia Bigster which will be essentially a longer version of the Duster.

Autocar India reports that Renault’s five-seater SUV could arrive in late 2025, together with the Nissan sibling. Rivals will include the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, and Honda Elevate. The seven-seater models could follow in 2026, targeting the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV700.

Nissan recently announced it will launch three new models in India by 2026. This means that the five- and seven-seater SUVs will be joined by another model, further expanding Nissan’s lineup and presence in the region.
