ST MIRREN goalkeeper Zach Hemming is in the bad books with his fiancé after describing her as his GIRLFRIEND during a interview.
The Saints stopper, 23, is spending the season on loan in Paisley after signing from English Championship club Middlesbrough this summer.
He’s enjoying his second spell in Scotland after spending two years at Kilmarnock over the last couple of seasons.
The Englishman is Stephen Robinson’s No1 this year and has helped his new club to a perfect start in the Scottish Premiership, beating Hibs and Dundee to take second place going into this weekend’s break for the Viaplay Cup fixtures.
Celtic are the only other team to win both of their opening fixtures.
Hemming has admitted that he struggled last season due to lack of game time but insists he’s back to his best thanks to having his family with him in Paisley.
But the goalie had a moment he’d like to forget when hailing his partner’s influence on his career.
However, it’s one that he’ll be constantly reminded of after his future wife took aim on social media.
In the interview, Hemming said: “I feel like I have my confidence back. I never played much last season. And I probably didn’t play as well as I should have when I did.
“Having the kids up here, my girlfriend, everything has come together. It’s nice having the family here and that gives you confidence too.
“Last year I had a new born at the start of the season. So that was quite hard. I was travelling up and down all the time, but now the kids are up here every day and it makes it easier for me to chill.
His fiancé Caitlin was quick to pick up on his mistake and jokingly wrote on Twitter: “I love you but GIRLFRIEND?! I’m your soon to be wife Mr Hemming! You’re making your own tea tonight @zachhemming1.”
