Sheffield United 0 – 6 Arsenal – Match Report

A thrilling and aggressive exhibition of attacking football resulted in us matching our record for the biggest away win in the Premier League for the second time in just a few weeks.

After a 6-0 triumph at West Ham and a 5-0 victory over Burnley in our previous away league fixture, we continued our impressive form at Bramall Lane, dominating the hosts.

Martin Odegaard kickstarted the goal fest within five minutes, setting the tone for the match. A Jayden Bogle own goal added to our lead before Gabriel Martinelli extended it to 3-0 in the first 15 minutes. Kai Havertz and Declan Rice further widened the gap before half-time, with Ben White’s goal in the second half being our historic 10,000th goal.

We unleashed over 20 shots during the game, setting a new record by becoming the first team in English league history to win three consecutive games by at least five goals.

Early onslaught

Remarkably, we had three clear scoring opportunities within the first four minutes before Odegaard found the back of the net in the fifth minute. Our attacking prowess was evident as Bukayo Saka hit the crossbar early on, followed by chances from White and Martinelli before Rice’s assist led to Odegaard’s goal.

The relentless pressure continued as Saka’s pass caused an own goal by Bogle, followed by Martinelli’s precise finish to increase our lead to three goals in just 15 minutes.

Goals keep flowing

After a brief lull, we notched our fourth goal as Havertz showcased his skill with a left-footed strike. The fluidity of our attacks left the United defenders chasing shadows, leading to Rice scoring the fifth goal with an assist from Saka, marking Saka’s 50th assist for Arsenal.

Our dominating performance in the first half made history as only the second team in English top-flight to score five goals in three consecutive away games.

White’s landmark strike

The second half started with White adding a sensational goal to the tally, marking our 10,000th goal in all competitions. The match ended with a 6-0 victory, continuing our winning streak in the Premier League.
