But after one date, the 25-year-old noticed things didn’t seem right when he persistently asked to see her on the night she was working at a fashion event.

Despite telling him she would text him later to plan their second meet up, the man turned up unexpectedly outside a nightclub she was at – demanding she get into his car shortly after 1am.

“I had just gone out with him on a date the night prior and the next day, he was like, ‘I would love to see you tonight’,” Mongeau told her Cancelled podcast co-host Brooke Schofield.

“I was like, ‘Okay, I have this event. I’ll let you know what I’m doing after. We can hang out, maybe. If not, I’ll let you know.’ And then he goes, ‘Can I come with you?’

“I find it very weird that when you go on one date with someone, they invite themselves… it’s a bold ask. I wouldn’t do it.”

The YouTube star with more than 5.3 million subscribers said she didn’t feel comfortable having her date at work so she tried to make plans to see him after the event.

“I don’t want to babysit this man all night. Like, I want to be able to just do my thing,” she explained.

“So I say, ‘I don’t know… let’s meet up after.’ And he’s like, ‘Why not? Like, I can talk to people, too.’ He’s 34, I find that to be kind of strange, you know? I was like, ‘Maybe I’ll see you later’.”

After the event, she ended up going to an after-party at a nightclub in LA.

“So he’s texting me, and he’s like, ‘What are you doing?’ I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m still hanging out with my friends’,” she said.

“I say to him, ‘I know it’s 1.15am, it’s kind of late, but if you wanted to watch a movie later or hang out, I could potentially be down but I’m gonna be here.

“He’s like, ‘It’s okay. I’m tired but I’m down to watch a movie in a little bit if you’re done soon.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, perfect’.

“And he goes, ‘Where are you?’ I answer him because it’s just conversational. So I’m like, ‘Oh I’m at this nightclub just vibing with my friends. I’ll tell you when I’m done’.”

Just five minutes later, she received a text message from her date begging her to go outside.

“Five minutes goes by and he texts me and says, ‘I’m outside, come get in my car. I’m outside’… Insane,” she recalled.

“And I go, ‘What do you mean you’re outside?’ And he’s like, ‘I live five minutes away, I’m outside.’

“I go, ‘Did I not just tell you? I’m with my friends, I’m having fun. Who said pick me up?’

“I think that’s so crazy. If it’s like your boyfriend, it’s fine or even if we have been dating for a month. But we went on one date the day before. Why the f*** are you outside? Don’t be outside. Don’t be that guy.”

Her video has been viewed more than 3.1 million times – with many sharing their own horror dating stories.

“I literally told a guy ‘Maybe we can hang out later’. I fall asleep, and he showed up at my house,” one woman said.

Another revealed: “After I broke up with my ex, he would jog by my house and note whether or not my car was there.”

One shared: “One time I told a guy ‘Hey sorry I’m sick’ – implying that I don’t wanna hang out and he showed up anyway. Do I have to spell out ‘DON’T COME OVER’ lol.”

While another added: “He messaged saying ‘I’m here’ and I lied and told him I was out of town – I barely knew him.”
