Sunrise star Edwina Bartholomew’s husband Neil Varcoe melts hearts with new family post

Not long ago, Edwina Bartholomew spoke candidly about how life had been “challenging” for her and husband Neil Varcoe.

With Varcoe suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome, and two children to juggle, the beloved Sunrise star said things had been “full on”.

Now, in a heartwarming new Instagram post, Varcoe has paid a loving tribute to his wife and children, Molly, three, and Tom, one.

The Sunrise newsreader and her family spent some quality time together on Thursday, venturing to Bounce Inc in the Sydney suburb of Homebush.

Varcoe shared a series of photos from the afternoon, showing Eddy, Molly and Tom disappearing in a sea of white, yellow, red and blue balls.

And Eddy shared some footage of the family amongst the colourful chaos, calling it the “best day ever”.

“How did I get so lucky 💗,” Varcoe captioned his post from their outing at Bounce.

“Just adorable. A beautiful family 😊🌹,” one commenter said.

“They’re just beautiful, but then, they’re pretty lucky to have you too👏,” another said.

Meanwhile, Eddy posted to Instagram, saying: “Parents of Sydney, Bounce Inc just opened in Homebush.

“We bought tickets for the kids and also tickets so we could bounce on the adult bit.

“Worth it for this section alone. We only squeezed in a quick big bounce.”

The busy family are splitting their time between Sydney and Carcoar in regional NSW, where they have purchased a hotel they are renovating.

“We just bought this to turn into a hotel. Do we know anything about running a hotel?” Eddy said in a video posted on June 7 alongside Varcoe.

“Mm no, no we don’t,” Varcoe added.

“We know absolutely nothing,” Eddy laughed.

“We’re calling it The Victoria. It’s in this little town in Carcoar, smack bang between Orange, Bathurst and Cowra.”

To take on the venture, Eddy said they “sold our house in Sydney to buy what was once an old pub”.

“It’s still got the original cellar,” Varcoe showed, lifting the lid on an underground cellar.

“A convict-built museum next door and so much potential… “

Explaining the plan, Varcoe said that “over the next 12 months, give or take, we’ll renovate”.

While undertaking the massive project, the Sunrise presenter said they also need to care for their children, their dog Mate and travel between Carcoar and Sydney for her day job.

“Do you think we’re a bit mad?” Eddy asked her husband.

“Probably,” he responded.

“A little bit, we’ll see,” she laughed.

The Bartholomew-Varcoe clan is planning to open the refurbished hotel in 2025 – and Eddy has promised to document the renovation progress for her followers.
