Taylor Swift drops secret The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology with 15 extra songs

Taylor Swift has dropped the ultimate bombshell on her army of fans, releasing a second part to The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.

If one new album release wasn’t enough, the Queen of Pop has gifted Swifties a secret double album, announced just two hours after she released The Tortured Poets Department.

This second part includes 15 extra songs taking the total of freshly released songs to 31.

Swift made the highly anticipated announcement on her social media pages, showing off the new album cover.

“It’s a 2am surprise: The Tortured Poets Department is a secret DOUBLE album. ✌️ I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second instalment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs. And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours. 🤍”

The second album comes two hours after the release of her 11th studio album TTPD, which is expected to break her own streaming and sales records.

The bombshell album has been received well by fans and critics alike with the Rolling Stone’s Rob Sheffield rating the album as an “instant classic”.

“The Tortured Poets Department combines the intimacy of Folklore and Evermore with the synth-pop gloss of Midnights to create music that’s wildly ambitious and gloriously chaotic.”

While most fans expected TTPD to be about Swift’s break-up with boyfriend Joe Alwyn, Sheffield believes it was another ex-boyfriend, Matt Healy, who inspired the songs.
