The Saint George Hotel in Innaloo to be revamped and renamed as The Morris in nod to history

One of Perth’s most popular bars is set to undergo a complete makeover — and a name change.

The Saint George Hotel, better known as The Saint, is set for a huge transformation inside and out, with a possible playground also on the cards.

ALH WA manager Ric Torchia said the Morris Road venue, which was originally built as the Morris Hotel in the 1950s, had a rich history and the new name was a nod to its past.

“We will be spending close to $3 million on the upgrades which will feature changes to the inside and outside,” he said.

“The capacity will remain the same sitting at around 1500 and there will also be 4 bars onsite.

“There has also been a development application placed with the City of Stirling to have a playground set up.”

The menu will be revamped, with the kitchen open from 11am to 10pm every day.

“(The menu) will offer food fare suitable for any occasion, including date night, family gatherings and of course, watching the footy,” Mr Torchia said.

Even the drinks menu is getting an overhaul, with local artisan spirits and a brand new cocktail offering — a low-calorie margarita.

“It is a fantastic site that services the growing demand of the local neighbourhood,” Mr Torchia said.

“We can’t wait for the unveiling of The Morris and we just know locals will love it as much as we do.”

Works are under way now while the venue remains open, with the new-look The Morris set to launch around mid-July.
