The Spring Dresses, Tops, and Knits I’m Currently Shopping

I blame it on my recent spring cleaning—sorting through my closet, I’ve discovered I’m sorely lacking in spring tops, dresses, and knits. After parting ways with the items I’d had sitting around that weren’t getting a ton of wear, I’m left with a collection of solid basics, but I don’t have the colorful seasonal pieces that infuse my outfits with a little bit of playfulness. In short, with my current options I’m feeling pretty drab.

Luckily, now that we’re in the full swing of spring, complete with the prerequisite rainstorms and flowers, the new arrivals I’ve spotted at my go-to shopping locales reflect my lighthearted state of mind. So, I’ve decided to break things down and do a retail deep dive in the three categories I’m finding to be sorely lacking for this time of year. First, there’s flouncy, fun dresses I can wear for occasions that range from weddings to work. Next, tops in trendy spring colors with delicate details like ruffles or lace that help to make my wardrobe feel of-the-moment. And last, since the temperatures are still a bit unpredictable, knits that I can wear solo or layer with my other fresh purchases.
