TOKEN2049, a global conference series for the crypto industry, concluded its inaugural Dubai event with resounding success despite facing unprecedented weather challenges. The conference, which took place from April 18-19 during TOKEN2049 Week, attracted a record-breaking 10,000 attendees from over 160 countries.

Torrential rains, the heaviest in the UAE’s recorded history, threatened to disrupt the event. However, the crypto community’s resilience shone through as attendees braved the elements to participate in the sold-out conference.

“This week we witnessed the determination of the crypto industry first hand,” said Alex Fiskum, Co-Founder of TOKEN2049. “Our programme proceeded and our doors opened as planned, welcoming attendees to a comfortable, immersive, and action-packed event.”

TOKEN2049 Dubai featured an impressive lineup of over 200 industry leaders, including Pavel Durov, CEO of Telegram; Richard Teng, CEO of Binance; Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether; and Arthur Hayes, Co-Founder of BitMEX.

The event was marked by significant announcements, such as Tether’s partnership with Telegram to launch USDT on The Open Network (TON), Polkadot’s introduction of a new JAM chain graypaper, Berachain’s collaboration with Google Cloud, and Telos’ partnership with Ponos Technology to develop an Ethereum L2 zkEVM network.

Looking ahead, TOKEN2049 Singapore is set to raise the bar even higher, with an expected 20,000 attendees converging at the iconic Marina Bay Sands on September 18-19, just before the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend.

“Energized by this success, we now shift focus to prepare for the industry’s largest event of the year,” Fiskum stated.
