Travel influencer _travelher claims south west WA beach Hamelin Bay is a Greek island look-a-like

A travel influencer living in Australia has likened a WA beach to the Greek islands.

English expat Samantha goes by _thetravelher on Instagram, which boasts more than 42k followers, and has labelled Hamelin Bay on the south-west coast of WA as the Greece of Australia that “needs to be in your itinerary”.

The post began: “If you’re like me and always wanted to go to Greece, look no further, there’s a look alike down the road! 🤪”

The traveller explained that she hadn’t been to Greece herself but the bay’s “crystal blue waters and white rocky cliffs” were sure to make you feel like you were across the globe.

Hamelin Bay is located between Cape Leeuwin and Cape Naturaliste, about three-and-a-half drive from Perth.

It is renowned for its picturesque sunsets and clear waters, ideal for snorkelling and diving.

About 22 hours of flying across the world are the Greek islands, located in Europe, famous for their white beaches and whitewashed facades and hugely popular with tourists.

“We went for sunset and sunrise and saw countless stingrays and dolphins, we got so lucky! Hamelin Bay to me is just the most beautiful magical place 🥰,” Samantha’s Instagram post continued.

“Love love Hamelin Bay we surely do have lots of unspoilt magnificent view of beaches here in WA😘,” a third person wrote.

The beach is known for having a vast amount of stingrays and potentially rockfall, so visitors are warned to be careful and respect marine life.

“Some areas at Hamelin Bay do have some rope across the entrances and some signs saying cliff fall danger,” Samantha added.

“It does state it’s ‘your responsibility’ and there aren’t any specific do not enter signs, so I’d suggest seeing how you feel about the danger of rock fall and making your own decision☺️”
