BRITS are set to bask in stunning 22C sunshine before “unsettled” weather and cooler temperatures hit the country.
The warmer conditions has been welcomed across Britain as the masses flock to parks and beaches to enjoy the rays.

And today will likely be the same – with summer lovers being treated to a beautiful 22C this evening.
Brits were out and about yesterday after the mercury was forecast to reach a glorious 20C.
Some were snapped taking a dip at London’s Hamstead heath, while others could be seen basking in the sunshine at Victoria Tower Gardens.
It came just days after the Met Office issued “danger to life” warnings this week as thunderstorms struck.
It was like whiplash for Brits as much of the country soaked in the rays over the Bank Holiday weekend, with crowds swarming beaches after the sun finally came out in different parts of the country.
Temperatures are set to hit 22C in the capital and Cambridge around 5pm – while Monmouth, Bristol and Guilford are likely to see the same.
Elsewhere, Birmingham, Milton Keynes and Nottingham are looking to be soaking in 21C sunshine.
Describing today’s weather, the Met Office said: “It will be a largely fine and dry day for much of the country and feeling warm in the sunshine and light winds.
“Rain across northern Scotland in the morning, but becoming mostly dry by the evening.”
Tomorrow’s weather is looking similar – forecasters said: “High pressure continues to dominate the UK, bringing a dry day with plenty of sunny spells. Feeling very warm once again in the sunshine and light winds.”
But, looking ahead into the weekend, the weather is looking to change.
The Met said: “Remaining settled to start the weekend with warm sunny spells and the odd shower.
“Chance of heavy, thundery showers on Sunday before turning widely unsettled on Monday and feeling cooler.”
And there’s a chance more thunder will be on the way early next week.
The Met Office said of Monday to Wednesday next week: “The weather is expected to change from the current warm and settled conditions, and return to an unsettled and showery pattern.
“Rain and showers, perhaps heavy and thundery, are expected across much of the country.
“Rainfall amounts could be above average in many areas, especially where showers merge and become slow moving. Winds could fresh at times, especially near heavier showers and along coasts.
In the places that stay dry, the sunny temperatures will be a little above average – generally on the warm side in the sunshine.

“Temperatures will not be as high as the previous week, and are expected to fall closer to average for May. Where it remains damp and cloudy it will feel much cooler than of late.
“However where there are any breaks in the cloud, and where winds fall light, it will feel warm in any sunny spells.”
The Met Office said highs of 20C are expected compared to the 17C average for this time of year, but where cloud persists 14C to 15C is more likely.
A spokesperson said: “In the places that stay dry, the sunny temperatures will be a little above average – generally on the warm side in the sunshine.
“We’re looking at a mixed picture across the UK again: largely fairly cloudy skies across the northern half of the UK again, but I’m more hopeful as the day goes on the cloud will break a bit.”
Last weekend beaches like Brighton’s were packed with people who wanted to get near the sea on Sunday while the temperatures were warm.

And it was all blue skies in Sheerness, Kent for the Blaze class sailing dinghy Eastern Championships event hosted by Isle of Sheppey Sailing Club.

The weather is expected to change from the current warm and settled conditions, and return to an unsettled and showery pattern. Winds could fresh at times, especially near heavier showers and along coasts. Temperatures will not be as high as the previous week, and are expected to fall closer to average for May. May 23 – June 6:
For the end of May and the start of June, it will probably start off fairly unsettled with rain or showers for many, but also some sunny spells between, and slightly-above average temperatures. Through the period there are some tentative signs that conditions could become a little more settled in the south and east, with rain perhaps more confined to the north and west. As we head into late spring and early summer, it will naturally feel warm in any sunshine, especially when winds fall light.
