WA’s Turquoise Bay, Wharton Beach make 2024 list of world’s 50 best beaches

Two stunning WA beaches have made it into a competitive list of the world’s 50 best beaches of 2024.

Coming in at number six was Turquoise Bay, located within Cape Range National Park approximately 63km from Exmouth.

This spectacular spot, part of the Ningaloo Reef, lives up to its name with radiant turquoise waters and untouched surroundings where the desert meets the sea.

The beach is known for its epic snorkelling and rare opportunities to get up close with marine wildlife.

Wharton Beach came in at number 33 on the list, known for its remote southern location nestled in the Duke of Orleans Bay area and is a prime surfing spot.

The rugged gem is rarely crowded, has crystal clear waters and pristine white sand.

Beachgoers often see dolphins passing through.

A Queensland beach on the Great Barrier Reef also made it on the list, coming in at number 20.

Anchor Bay Beach, on Lizard Island, is the epitome of a small island beach paradise.

The snorkelling and diving experiences here are unmatched with vibrant coral reefs and marine life.

If you’re up for an adventure, the peaceful beach is only accessible by small aircraft or boat.
