Where to buy tickets, best prices, dates

When most people near 80 years of age, they begin to take it easy.

Not Van Morrison.

The classic rock legend, who’s celebrating his 78th birthday on Aug. 31, is embarking on a quick 11-concert North American tour in support of his latest studio album “Moving On Skiffle” to ring in the occasion.

Over the course of his brief run, the legendary singer-songwriter will stop into major U.S. cities like Boston, San Diego, Las Vegas, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.

And if you want to hear the enigmatic Rock and Roll Hall of Famer perform live, it’s not too late to scoop up last-minute tickets.

At the time of publication, we found some tickets to see the Belfast Cowboy going for as low as $40 before fees on Vivid Seats.

While that price is certainly an outlier — most concerts have seats starting anywhere from $90 to $330 before fees — it’s hard to put a price on seeing a living legend live in concert.

Van Morrison controversy

In 2020, Van Morrison protested social distancing measures and fought “pseudo science.”

His most public anti-COVID effort was the release of three songs that were anti-lockdown.

As a result, Northern Ireland health minister, Robin Swann claimed Morrison’s COVID-related songs were “dangerous” which led to a defamation lawsuit after Morrison called Swann a “fraud.”

Van Morrison new music

This year, Van Morrison put out his 44th (!) studio album “Moving On Skiffle.”

The folksy record, comprised of soulful, jaunty covers and a few original tracks, is a demonstration that the powerful vocalist still has chops.
