Zain Premier League qualification on the line as Al-Sahel faces Yarmouk

Players challenge for the ball.

KUWAIT CITY, May 2: In the nineteenth round of the first division league, Al-Sahel faces Yarmouk in a must-win clash to keep their hopes alive for the second qualification card for the Zain Premier League. Simultaneously, they meet Burgan and Sulaibikhat in an important match at the Tadamon Stadium.

With Yarmouk securing the first qualifying card with 30 points, the battle for the second card intensifies between Al-Tadamon (26 points) and Al-Sahel (21 points), with Burgan and Sulaibikhat out of contention.

Al-Sahel’s victory today is paramount, as any other result would mean Al-Tadamon is clinching the second ticket to the Zain Premier League. If Al-Sahel triumphs, they must also win their last match against Sulaibikhat, while Al-Tadamon loses to Yarmouk in the final round.

Despite facing a daunting task, Al-Sahel is determined to secure victory, knowing they have not managed to defeat Yarmouk in their three encounters this season. On the contrary, Yarmouk, already guaranteed a spot in the Premier League, may utilize this match to give playing time to previously sidelined players.

It’s a crucial juncture for Al-Sahel as they strive to keep their Zain Premier League aspirations alive amidst fierce competition and high stakes.
