Kuwait City, May 23: Zain has sponsored the grand ceremony accompanying the thrilling final match of the 62nd edition of the Amir Cup, held under the patronage and presence of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Qadsia SC were crowned champions of the much-cherished cup after defeating Salmiya SC in the exciting final, were over 19,000 spectators cheered on their teams at Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium.
During the ceremony, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received a commemorative gift from Zain Vice Chairman and Group CEO Bader Al-Kharafi.
Zain’s support to the grand finale, which was organized by the Kuwait Football Association, included a spectacular musical performance dedicated to H.H. the Amir, performed by Kuwaiti stars Nabeel Shuail and Mutref Al Mutref. In addition, the ceremony featured draws with valuable prizes for the spectators, including 4 cars and 50 smartphones.
The thrilling final saw Qadsia SC winning their 17th Amir Cup title after defeating Salmiya SC 1-0. After the match, club board members, players, and technical staff, along with match officials, had the privilege of meeting H.H. the Amir, were he presented the cherished cup to Qadsia captain Bader Al Mutawa.
Zain’s support to the Amir Cup competition came under the umbrella of its strategic partnership with the Kuwait Football Association. Zain is the Official Sponsor of the KFA’s competitions throughout the 2022-2026 seasons, including the Kuwait Premier League (Dawri Zain), the Zain First Division League, H.H. the Amir’s Cup, and the KFA Cup (Zain Cup).
